Job Summary:
A Sterile Processing Technician position is available in Apple Valley, California. This role involves working primarily independently within a hospital environment, with a focus on decontamination, sterilization, and reprocessing of surgical instruments and scopes. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking and communication skills to ensure compliance with sterilization protocols and patient safety standards.

Job Details:

• Location: Apple Valley, CA
• Shift: Nights, with variable hours including shifts from 0500-1330, 0630-1500, 0700-1530, 1000-1830, 1330-2200, 1900-0330, 2130-0600, plus on-call availability during the evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA, or HSPA; valid state license (compact license acceptable); minimum of 5 years of experience in hospital sterile processing, with at least 3 years in a shift lead, precepting, or team lead role within a hospital setting; proficiency with decontamination and sterilization equipment including Da Vinci Xi, Getinge Autoclave, Amsco Autoclave, Steris V-Pro, Steris System 1e, Getinge 86 series washer, Triton 72 ultrasonic cleaner; experience in handling laparoscopic, robotic, orthopedics, and other surgical scopes and instruments.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring, trauma levels I and II, and familiarity with Epic charting system.
• Other Requirements: on-call availability, float rotation between main OR and surgery center, adherence to scheduling protocols including holiday work, and compliance with background and health screening policies.
• Additional Information: This position may involve operating surgical sterilization equipment, managing sterilization records, and maintaining proper labeling and organization of trays. Experience with robotic surgical equipment and various sterilization monitoring procedures is essential.
