Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse in Seattle, Washington. This high-volume, high-risk department requires experienced RNs to provide exceptional care during high acuity obstetrical deliveries. The role involves functioning as a Baby Nurse during delivery and ongoing neonate care until transfer to postpartum. The position supports diverse patient diagnoses, including midwifery clients, private obstetrics patients, and substance recovery services, utilizing electronic fetal monitoring and following AWHONN guidelines.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 48 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026.
- Required Qualifications: 3 years of experience as a Labor and Delivery Nurse, current active licensure with a compact license, valid BLS and NRP certifications, at least 1 year of experience in high-acuity and high-volume obstetric environments, and current supervisory references. Familiarity with Epic electronic fetal monitoring and AWHONN guidelines is valued.
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications.
- Float: Float to sister facilities supporting Mother/Baby units may be required.
- Special Procedures/Unit Details: High-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery, all types, with 4 operating rooms. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity settings and demonstrate proficiency in circulating, neonatal care including eyes, thigh assessments, and injections. Experience with obstetrical interventions such as amnioinfusion, cesarean sections, and neonatal resuscitation is essential.
- Additional Information: Must be able to function as a Baby Nurse during delivery, continue neonate care until transfer, and perform assessments and interventions per facility standards. Candidates should be flexible for scheduled weekends and holidays, and adhere to specific scheduling requests made during application.
