Job Summary
Operating Room (OR) Open Heart (OH) specialist is needed at a short-term acute care facility located in Saint Louis, Missouri. The role involves working primarily on cardiac, thoracic, and vascular cases, with a focus on open heart procedures, transplant surgeries, and other emergent cases within a fast-paced environment. The position offers the opportunity to work a flexible schedule, with rotating shift times as needed, and requires scrub and circulating experience.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of experience; BLS certification; ACLS certification; operating room open heart experience; cardiac, thoracic, vascular, transplant, and Whipple procedures expertise; scrub and circulate skills; Missouri or compact license upon submission (or in hand at time of submittal); must have sufficient level 1 trauma experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: BSN preferred; experience with heart and lung transplant procedures; familiarity with Epic charting system; scrub hospital or community hospital experience; trauma level I experience required.
  • Additional Information: The position involves working primarily with cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including emergent cases. Night shift experience with heart and lung transplant cases is needed. Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs. Shifts may include 3-4 weekday and 1-2 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule, depending on unit needs. Travelers cannot be within 75 miles of the facility. Orientation parking is available at a designated garage, with specific instructions provided. The assignment begins on 09/14/2026.
