Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse - Rock Springs, Wyoming. This position involves providing perioperative care within an acute care setting, supporting various surgical specialties including general, orthopedics, plastics, ENT, urology, pain management, obstetrics and gynecology, and laparoscopic procedures. The role requires adaptability to floating between units, with day shifts scheduled from 6:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days, 8-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Wyoming state or compact nursing license; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; 2 years of operating room (OR) experience in a surgical setting; and proficiency with equipment such as Alaris Med pumps, Hillrom call system, Pyxis medication system, holmium CO2, and YAG lasers.
• Preferred Qualifications: Recovery experience specifically in Phase 2 recovery, with documentation on resume.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to same-day surgery, operating room, sterile processing, or other departments based on training and experience.
• Additional Information: The unit has four main operating rooms, one cysto room, one obstetrics (OB) room, two endoscopy suites, and 15 beds in the same-day surgery (SDS) unit. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:1 in PACU, 1:1 in OR (scrub and circulator), and 1:2-3 in SDS. The orientation includes a two-day hospital overview followed by 2-3 days with a unit preceptor. The facility utilizes Cerner charting system. The position may require call coverage approximately once per week and one weekend per month, with holiday call possible.
