Job Summary
This opportunity is for a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse in Rock Springs, Wyoming. The role involves providing specialized patient care during phase I and phase II recovery for general surgery, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, plastics, urology, and pain management procedures. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patient recovery, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Job Details

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with days from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. One night a week call, and a minimum of one weekend per month is required.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Wyoming Registered Nurse (RN) license or a valid Compact license, at least 1 year of experience in critical care or perioperative nursing, and current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EMR charting, vitals signs machines, Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, and Pyxis medication systems.
• Additional Information: The role involves floating to other units such as Same-day Surgery, Pre-anesthesia Testing, or ICU during low census. The unit has a 5-bed capacity with a patient nurse ratio of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on patient acuity. Approximately 3 days of one-on-one training prior to independent work within the department. Proper scrubs are provided for the surgical department.
