Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurses (RNs) are needed for a facility in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing patient care in a 28-bed neuro and trauma-focused unit, with a mix of general, cardiac, ortho, and hematology/oncology patients. The position requires experience with drips, ventilators, and respiratory equipment, and is suitable for open-minded professionals willing to learn vent management and first-time travelers.

Job Details:

• Location: Marshfield, WI
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours each, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. Shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, every other weekend and holiday.
• Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS - American Heart Association), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Qualifications:
  • Two years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical (MS), Progressive Care Unit (PCU), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.
  • Must have tested within the last year.
  • Experience with drips such as Heparin, Nitro, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, insulin, and 3%.
  • Highly preferred experience in home trach and ventilator management.
• Additional Information:
  • Self-scheduling with the manager to balance shifts, flexibility for first-time travelers, and the option to train on ventilator management.
  • The unit utilizes Vents, Trachs, Cpap, Bipap, Vapotherm, and Etco2 equipment.
  • Nurse staffing includes nurse aides, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 during day shifts and 1:5-6 at night.
  • Floating to sister units with various specialties is required; RNs must read their own monitor strips.
  • Dress code is any solid color scrubs.
  • Orientation includes one general shift and one shift with a preceptor.
  • Clinicians must have previous work experience with the facility or have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission.
  • No telemonitor reading required at this time.
  • Must clock in/out at the facility.
  • Facility is located at 611 N Saint Joseph Ave, Marshfield, WI 54449.
