Job Summary
Nurse Manager position located in New York. This role involves leading nursing practice within a healthcare environment utilizing the tenets of Relationship Centered Care and the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing to enhance patient experience. The position requires effective communication, clinical leadership, and fostering a culture of learning and evidence-based practice.

- Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of Hourly Care Checks and role models expected behaviors.
- Ensures the integration of Care Checks into clinical activities to enhance Relationship Centered Care.
- Validates staff competency in Care Checks and provides consistent meaningful feedback.
- Communicates quantitative and qualitative information regarding the patient experience to the staff and the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Collaborates with the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/physician dyad and escalates concerns as appropriate.
- Follows up on all patient concerns in a timely manner and provides service recovery as needed.
- Demonstrates caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening through dialogue, body language, and actions.
- Oversees the development and implementation of the nursing education budget, including capital equipment allocation, and makes recommendations according to financial goals.
- Maintains, reviews, and evaluates educational record-keeping and reporting systems and modifies as necessary.
- Conducts and participates in meetings related to area of assignment.
- Conducts and participates in research activities related to education, healthcare management, and clinical practice.
- Performs as a clinical leader who actively creates and supports nursing practice and an environment of care that reflects clinical excellence.
- Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and communication techniques necessary to provide age-appropriate care for patients of all age groups served in the assigned area, including Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric populations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or Masters degree in Nursing/related Healthcare field with experience in Nursing Education and/or Nursing Leadership; candidates enrolled in a graduate program with close graduation dates are considered.
- Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State.
- ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience in critical care, medical-surgical, or step-down units.
- Demonstrated competence and progressive experience in education, management, and clinical specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters in Nursing Education is preferred.
- Professional Board certification in clinical specialty.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, 9.5 hours per shift, minimum of 38 hours per week, must be flexible for both 4x10 or 5x8 schedules
