Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Nurse in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized cardiac and thoracic surgical care in a hospital setting. The role requires flexibility to adapt to changing case volumes and acuity, with a focus on maintaining high standards of patient care and ensuring operational efficiency within the surgical suite.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Dayshift, 8 hours shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; at least 2 years of cardiac/thoracic operating room experience; CST license required; NBSTSA or NCCT certification accepted; AHA or ARC certifications required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree or certification.
• On Call/Call-Back: 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup per week with a 30-minute response time; callback minimum of 2 hours; ability to respond promptly to urgent needs.
• Holiday Rotation: Every third weekend and holiday rotation required.
• Shift Notes: 8-hour days.
• Additional Information: Candidates should be efficient in setting up operative suites, scrubbing surgical cases across various specialties, and managing room turnovers. Experience with thoracic robot surgery is preferred. Flexibility and resilience are essential, with willingness to perform downtime tasks as needed. Travel experience is required.
