Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Bishop, CA. This position involves providing specialized care for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum patients, stable newborns, and stabilizing neonates requiring transport. The role requires a strong foundation in fetal monitoring and neonatal stabilization, supporting the overall health and well-being of mothers and babies during the labor and delivery process.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of School of Nursing; current California State License as a Registered Nurse; BSN/BA preferred; one-year labor experience required or completed extended orientation period; BLS certification upon hire and ongoing; NRP certification within 6 months of hire and ongoing; Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification within 6 months of hire and ongoing; Gnosis annual assessment of EFM principles within 3 months of hire and ongoing; BFHI (Baby-Friendly) Lactation Education required or within 6 months of hire; interpersonal skills necessary for patient and family instruction; analytical skills for workload prioritization and care planning; basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Intranet; ability to learn applicable computer software; fluency in English.
- Preferred Qualifications: Certification in fetal monitoring beyond basic level preferred.
- Additional Information: The RN will deliver collaborative nursing care according to departmental protocols, medical treatment plans, and adherence to nursing standards and ethics. The position involves patient care responsibilities aligned with the lifespan stages: neonate (birth to 27 days), pediatric (28 days to 13 years), adult (13 to 65 years), and geriatric (65+). The role includes exposure to blood and body fluids, requiring strict adherence to safety protocols.
