Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse specializing in the department located in San Jose, California. This role involves providing high-quality patient care within a unit primarily focused on deliveries, Cesarean sections, and other obstetric procedures. The position requires a skilled professional experienced in managing the unique needs of obstetric patients, supporting team collaboration, and adhering to unit policies.
Job Details:
- Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid California nursing license; Bachelors degree in Nursing or higher; 4+ years of experience in labor and delivery; Current BLS certification; location in California; minimum of 0 years of experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic medical record systems such as Meditech/CPN; team player personality; familiarity with obstetric procedures such as deliveries and Cesarean sections; knowledge of California Title 22 patient ratios
- Additional Information: The unit is a 10-bed labor and delivery unit with approximately 120 staff members including charge nurses, unit clerks, scrub techs, and RNs. Role involves working in a team-oriented environment, adhering to unit guidelines and policies, and covering rotating weekends based on scheduling. The position may require floating to other units within the hospital as needed.
