Description
Job Summary:
The Electrophysiology Laboratory (EP LAB) Nurse is responsible for assisting clinic providers and staff in delivering and coordinating patient care related to cardiac electrophysiology procedures. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team. The position requires expertise in device management, arrhythmia management, and patient education, supporting efficient clinic operations and patient satisfaction.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), current Montana Registered Nurse (RN) license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, one (1) year of registered nursing experience, International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification, experience managing cardiac implantable electronic devices including pacemakers and implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs), familiarity with device platforms from major manufacturers including Biotronik, Medtronic, Abbott (formerly St. Jude Medical), and Boston Scientific, knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia management and electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) interpretation.
- Essential Job Functions: Interrogates cardiac implantable electronic devices, monitors patient responses, adjusts device settings, manages remote device monitoring, coordinates follow-up care, maintains documentation, performs diagnostic tests like electrocardiograms (EKGs), Holter, and Zio Patch, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for procedures. Provides patient education and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Physical and Cognitive Requirements: Includes lifting, standing, walking, reaching, fine-finger movements, and continuous visual and cognitive tasks necessary for data analysis and patient care. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, radiation, chemicals, infectious diseases, and emotionally challenging situations is expected.
- Additional Information: The facility reserves the right to cancel shifts in case of low census. Candidates must reside at least 90 miles from the facility.
