Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Floor (MS) registered nurse is needed for an assignment starting on 08/23/2026 in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The role involves providing care to a neuro patient population, including stroke, neurosurgical, and seizure patients, on a 12-hour day shift from 07:00 to 19:00. The position emphasizes strong clinical skills in Medical Surgical nursing and familiarity with EPIC charting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 07:00 to 19:00, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Illinois license, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing with neuro experience preferred, proficiency in EPIC charting, at least 1 year of experience
• Preferred Qualifications: Neuro patient care experience including stroke, neurosurgical (spine, cranial, ENT), and seizure patients
• Float: As Needed to other Medical Surgical units
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
• Notes: Nurse/patient ratio of 1/5 or 1/6; orientation occurs on Wednesdays and Thursdays with 10 hours of nonbillable preceptorship including 8 hours for Epic training and 12 hours on the unit; submissions include an updated resume, skills checklist completed within 12 months, and one reference within 12 months
