Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse position is located in Tyler, Texas. This role involves providing specialized care in a Medical-Surgical ICU setting. The position requires delivering high-quality patient care during night shifts, with a focus on managing critically ill adult and geriatric patients.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 3x12 shifts with block scheduling, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications: ACLS, BLS; Education: Valid nursing license; Experience: 2 years of ICU experience, including patient ratio experience of 2-3 patients; Valid license in Texas; Location: Texas; Years of Experience: 2
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous Charge Nurse experience, Community Hospital experience, LTAC experience, Trauma Level I and II experience, travel experience, charting experience in Epic system
- Skills: Accessing/Managing Ports, Administration of chemotherapy, Arterial line management, Assist with Chest Tube Insertion/Removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, Blood Product Administration, Care of Ventilated Patient, Central line care/management, Chronic/Acute Renal failure management, Continuous IV sedation, CVA/Acute Stroke management, ECMO, External ventricular drain, GI surgery, High Flow Nasal Cannula, ICP monitoring, Infection Prevention, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, Isolation Precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, Management of dysrhythmias, Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Post Cardiac Surgery, Post Neurosurgery, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath/intervention, Procedural Sedation Monitoring, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, Sheath Removal, Spinal cord injury management, Starting and maintaining IVs, Suctioning, Surgical Intensive Care Unit, Titrate Cardiac and Vasoactive drips, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement, Traumatic Brain injury, Ventilator Management
- Additional Unit Information: Patient census approximately 14 adults and geriatrics, with 12 beds in the unit. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy.
- Travel and Compliance: Travel experience required; UT does not contract travelers residing in designated counties. Must have valid state or compact license at time of submittal; previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers. Onboarding must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
