Description
Job Summary:
Long Term Care Registered Nurse (RN) Seward, Alaska. This position involves providing compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses including dementia, Alzheimers, and other LTC appropriate conditions. The RN will work in a facility with a census of 40 patients, supporting daily patient needs and clinical procedures in a long-term care setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift; 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska RN license, BLS certification, at least 1 year of experience in long-term care, and LTC experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with acuchecks, implanted glucose sensors, G-tube feedings, Duopa pumps, IV hydration, phlebotomy, peritoneal dialysis (subcutaneous), respiratory treatments, and wound care.
- Certifications: BLS.
- Additional Information: Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during orientation; no prior certification needed. Must be willing to work at least two major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years). RTO requests are limited to 1 week for 13-week contracts and 2 weeks for 26-week contracts, to be submitted with application. Travelers will float within the facility to meet patient care needs and may work any shift as needed. Facility provides a vehicle for the duration of the assignment, which must be operated only by the traveler and returned in proper condition. No locats accepted; candidates perm address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
