Description
Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in the St. Louis, Missouri area. This 16-week assignment involves providing direct patient care for post-operative cardiovascular and thoracic patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient outcomes. The role requires teamwork to coordinate patient care activities within a high-acuity environment.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights, 1900-0730
- Schedule: Night shift with minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Current RN license (eligible for licensure in Missouri or licensed in Missouri), BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, 1 year of experience in an Intermediate Care Unit or similar setting, located in Missouri, with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: NIHSS certification
- Float Requirements: as needed, to a similar or lower acuity unit
- Additional Information: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided. Coordinates patient care with other departments, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Provides care for patients post trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities. The environment involves high-risk exposure to blood and body fluids, significant physical demands, and adherence to professional standards.
