Job Summary:
Psychiatric Nursing Professional in Waterloo, Iowa. This role involves working within a psychiatric unit, providing behavioral health care for adult and geriatric patient populations. The position requires a dedicated nurse to support ongoing patient care on a specified shift schedule, starting from August 24, 2026.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 11.5-hour shifts; minimum of 34.5 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Iowa (IA) license or multi-state license, experience in psychiatric or behavioral health in a hospital setting of at least 15 months, EPIC electronic medical record experience, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or ARC.
• Preferred Qualifications: Acceptable de-escalation certificates such as MAB, CPI, MOAB, or SAMA (highly preferred, can be obtained upon offer acceptance).
• Additional Information:
  • Minimum of 15 months recent or current psychiatric/behavioral health experience in a hospital setting.
  • Must have experience working with all age groups 18+ years, including adults and geriatric populations.
  • Candidates must be willing to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
  • Must provide professional references from within the past 24 months.
  • Driver's license and de-escalation certification are required; proficiency with EPIC EMR is necessary.
  • No on-call hours are required for this assignment.
