Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care is sought for an assignment in a healthcare facility located in Mission Viejo, California. This role involves providing comprehensive wound assessment, management, and treatment for adult and geriatric patients. The position offers a weekday schedule focused on wound care procedures, including wound vac application and removal, dressing changes, and advanced ulcer management.

Job Details:

Location: Mission Viejo, California
Shift: Days, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Start Date: 08/24/2026
Required Qualifications: Currently licensed as a registered nurse in California; minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in wound care; valid BLS certification; Wound Certified (WOCN) certification preferred; experience with wound assessment and advanced wound management procedures; proficiency with the Epic documentation system; flexibility to float within the hospital as needed.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pressure ulcer staging (Stage I-IV), wound vac therapy, and advanced wound dressings such as alginates, hydrogels, and foams. Familiarity with peripheral arterial ulcer assessment, debridement techniques, and infection control protocols.
Additional Information: Candidates must be capable of performing wound vac application and removal, dressing application, and 2-layer compression wrap application. The role includes patient education on self-care techniques related to wound management, urinary and fecal incontinence programs, and the use of complex dressings and therapies. Compliance with state licensing requirements and previous hospital clinical experience are essential.
