Job Summary
Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) position in Suffolk, Virginia. This role involves providing compassionate end-of-life care to geriatric patients within a hospice setting. The nurse will deliver patient-centered services with a focus on comfort, symptom management, and support to patients and families. The position is based in a healthcare organization dedicated to quality hospice care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active license in Virginia, at least 1 year of hospice or home health experience, BLS certification, recent OASIS experience for SOC (Start of Care) staff, proficiency in HCHB (Homecare Homebase), and ability to communicate and document timely and accurately
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in community hospital settings, cultural awareness, death pronouncement, death/dying counseling, postmortem care, advanced directives, medical futility, organ donation, palliative sedation, withholding/withdrawing treatment, analgesic ladder, pain assessment, PCA pump management, IV placement, patient/family education, and familiarity with pain scales and medication dosing
• Additional Information: On-call responsibilities may be required, weekend coverage may be needed, and all candidates must have an active drivers license and personal transportation. Orientation begins on Monday, and the position involves comprehensive hospice/home health duties including patient education, symptom management, and end-of-life support.
