Description

Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in psychiatric care at a mental health unit located in New York. This position involves providing safe, patient-centered care within a fast-paced psychiatric setting, utilizing evidence-based practices and the principles of Relationship Centered Care to support patients' mental health needs.

Job Details:

Schedule: 11.5-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, every other week, with a minimum of 34.5 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; at least 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience; minimum of 2 years RN experience; 1 year travel experience for travel positions (not required for per diem positions); experience with EPIC electronic health record system highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing preferred, or active matriculation in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program; CPI or PMCS certification
Operational Responsibilities: Performing charge nurse duties as assigned; coordinating supply use and inventory; escalating resource deficits; documenting care accurately to meet regulatory standards; facilitating patient throughput during shifts
Professional Development: Supporting a nurturing environment for colleagues and patients; advancing clinical skills in psychiatric practice; demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and ethical decision-making; engaging in continuous learning and unit initiatives
Additional Information: The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, dedication to quality and safety practices, and adherence to institutional protocols for clinical excellence.
