Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Nurse is needed for a facility in Portales, New Mexico. This role involves providing patient-centered care on a specialized medical surgical floor, supporting patient recovery and comfort for a diverse patient population, including pediatric, geriatric, and general adult patients. The position requires strong assessment skills, effective communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet patient needs.

Job Details:

• Position: Medical Surgical Nurse (MS) for the medical surgical floor at a healthcare facility in Portales, NM
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/17/2026
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for the American Heart Association with at least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting; completion of relevant nursing education and licensure; ability to work night shifts; located within the United States; and a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric, geriatric, or general patient populations, and familiarity with hospital protocols and interdisciplinary care.
• Additional Information: The nurse will promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization while performing patient assessments, including head-to-toe evaluations, pain management, patient education, and documentation. Responsibilities include assisting physicians with procedures, ensuring patient confidentiality, and coordinating care within licensure guidelines.
