Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a healthcare facility located in Wichita, Kansas. The role involves providing high-quality care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma Pediatric ICU environment. The position requires an adaptable and dedicated RN to support unit operations during night shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute care hospital PICU RN experience. Certifications required include Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), APHON Pediatric Certification, and prior experience in a teaching hospital environment are highly desirable.
• Unit Information: The PICU features 15 beds with a staff of 38, including intensivists, RNs, desk technicians, respiratory therapists, dietitians, and case management. It is a Level II Trauma Pediatric ICU with a patient ratio of 2:1.
• Typical Procedures: IV starts, blood draws, and TPT placements are common procedures performed on the unit.
• Additional Information: The unit utilizes General Critical Care Monitoring and Meditech/CPN electronic medical records. The team works well under pressure and values personnel who thrive in a teaching hospital setting. The unit has modern equipment and experienced staff, offering a dynamic environment for professional growth.
