Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Labor and Delivery (L&D) department at a healthcare facility located in Statesboro, Georgia. This assignment involves providing specialized obstetrical care to laboring patients, supporting delivery processes, neonatal resuscitation, and postpartum recovery. The role offers opportunities to work collaboratively in a dynamic maternity environment, focusing on patient safety and quality care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid registered nurse license, 2+ years of recent labor and delivery experience, at least 2 previous travel assignments in labor and delivery, BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Cerner and CPN experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required between departments in the Women's Pavilion.
- Additional Information:
- Call requirements: two 12-hour shifts every six weeks, with at least one being a weekend shift.
- Able to pass an electrocardiogram (EKG).
- Monitor and assist laboring patients, communicate with providers, circulate for cesarean sections, support newborn resuscitation, and provide postpartum care for labor patients.
- Scrub color: Navy blue.
- EMR systems used: CPN (GE) and Cerner.
- Patient ratios: 1:1 or 1:2, in accordance with AWHONN staffing standards.
- No minimum required time off (RTO) as long as weekend call requirements are met.
- Facility includes 13 beds: 8 labor, delivery, recovery (LDR) rooms and 5 triage beds.
- The RN holds shift accountability during antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases, demonstrating leadership, critical thinking, and clinical competencies as per state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
