Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves providing triage, treatment, and discharge care for patients across all age groups in a busy emergency department. The position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced nurses to contribute to patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/17/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN license in the state of practice, Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred, one year in acute care experience, valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification within six months of hire or transfer
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC (required within six months of hire or transfer)
  • Essential Functions: Perform accurate triage assessments; notify emergency physicians of abnormal signs; review and complete patient orders promptly; teach medication side effects; recognize signs of cardiac or respiratory distress; provide appropriate interventions; interpret ECG rhythms; perform safety and quality checks; coordinate patient admissions from the ED; document all care accurately and timely; participate in emergency protocols such as Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.
  • Additional Information: All associates are required to receive applicable vaccinations and participate in ongoing safety protocols.
