Job Summary:
The facility is seeking a Medical Surgical Nurse for a position located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The role involves providing high-quality care on a medical-surgical unit, supporting patient needs through critical procedures and daily patient interactions. The candidate will be responsible for adhering to the facility's protocols and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid active nursing license; at least 2 years of experience in a hospital setting; BLS certification; IV certification; experience with med-surg procedures such as wound care, drain management, Foley insertions, central line dressing changes, telemetry monitoring, and EKGs.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with new equipment or technologies, leadership qualities, and self-scheduling capabilities.
• Additional Information: Candidate will be expected to perform bedside shift reports, hourly safety rounding, and foster personal connections with patients. The unit utilizes Meditech Expanse documentation system and supports self-scheduling with leadership oversight.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts during days, with occasional weekend and rotating holidays.
