Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) nurse is needed at a healthcare facility located in Wausau, Wisconsin. This position involves providing specialized critical care for post-operative heart patients, including those experiencing myocardial infarctions, cardiogenic shock, and other cardiovascular emergencies. The nurse will work during night shifts on a 12-hour schedule, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

  • Position: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU CV) Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
  • Start Date: 08/17/2026
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Wisconsin RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of experience with cardiac patients; skills with Swans, IABPs, and post-operative heart patients; associate degree or certificate of nursing education
  • Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Float: Float to all inpatient units as needed; typically critical care and acute care clusters
  • On Call/Call Back Requirements: Call permitted but not required; response time of 1 hour if calling is accepted
  • Weekend/Holiday Requirements: Every 2-3 weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) and every other holiday
  • Unit Information: 12-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit caring for post-operative heart patients, AMI, cardiogenic shock, induced hypothermia, and basic CICU patients; patient ratios include 2:1 CRRT and 1:1 Impella
  • Patient Procedures: Post-op hearts, AMI, cardiogenic shock, cardioversions, line placements, and removals
  • Additional Notes: This role requires a resilient, dedicated, and independent professional capable of managing change efficiently. Scrub colors may be any color. GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation; hours are guaranteed during regular shifts, except during unit-closed holidays.
