Description
Job Summary:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) specialty position is located in Atlanta, Georgia. This high-acuity unit requires a qualified healthcare professional to provide post-operative recovery care. The role involves managing a variety of cases, including thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery, often with higher complexity and acuity levels.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM shifts, varying hours, for a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience within the specialty. Certifications required include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Not specified.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with coverage including holidays. The unit handles cases such as thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery procedures. Higher acuity cases are performed on this unit. The unit is overseen by a charge nurse and supervisor.
