Description
Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse in Meridian, Idaho. This role involves providing high-quality emergency nursing care in a busy ER department. The selected candidate will work in a trauma level IV facility with a focus on adult and pediatric patients, handling high-acuity cases including stroke, STEMI, and trauma.
Job Details:
- Shift: 12-hour shifts with start times at 1330, 1530, or 1930; weekend shifts required as needed.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
- Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS, BLS, ENPC, PALS, and TNCC certifications. Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting, ideally from a larger urban hospital. Experience with trauma is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma experience is highly regarded.
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5 for nurses.
- Common Diagnoses: Stroke, STEMI, trauma, abdominal pain, high acuity Level I patients. Pediatrics are stabilized and shipped out.
- Additional Responsibilities: Managing infusion drips such as Nicardipine, Propofol, Fentanyl, Norepinephrine, Nitro, Versed, and Precedex. Performing EKGs, phlebotomy, wound care, splinting, and managing respiratory treatments.
- Staffing: At least one physician and one advanced practice provider (APP) per shift, with up to six providers possible. Charge nurses and assistant nurse managers oversee shift operations.
- Support: CNA support 1:5-9, RTs in house 24/7, and space labs with overflow radiology. RNs interpret cardiac monitors.
- Certifications & Licenses: Must possess a valid license to submit application.
- Schedule & Orientation: Orientation consists of one shift on the floor following hospital and Epic onboarding. No block scheduling; floating to other ERs (Boise and Nampa) may occur.
- Other Details: The facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule to confirm candidate eligibility.
