Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart Technician position is available in a healthcare facility setting. This role involves providing specific patient care duties and supporting unit activities within the operating room suite, with a focus on open heart procedures. The position requires a proactive approach to patient safety, adherence to practice policies, and technical proficiency in surgical procedures.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of experience as a scrub person in a hospital setting; approved program for Operating Room Technicians or demonstrated technical skills through on-the-job training; Scrub Tech Certification preferred; BLS for Healthcare Providers required; strong heart proficiency, and experience in orthopedic, neurological, robotic, and general cases; minimum of high school education preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in heart surgery, orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, robotic surgery, process improvement, compliance with count policies, teaching ability, and cost containment suggestions
• Additional Information: The role involves working on open heart cases, maintaining instrument tray accountability, updating surgeon preference cards, and ensuring adherence to count policies. The technician may be required to work additional or different shifts, participate in teaching, and submit recommendations for process improvements.
