Job Summary:
Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) position available in a designated psychiatric unit in Vermont. The role involves working with adult psychiatric patients requiring complex nursing care within a secure and specialized inpatient environment. The RN will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care, providing supervision to mental health workers and managing both clinical and operational responsibilities on night shift.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active Vermont Registered Nurse (RN) license; 5 years of nursing experience including inpatient psychiatric care within the last 3 months; recent experience in adult intensive or forensic psychiatric units; American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; recent psych/behavioral health experience covering all age groups; ability to float to other units and take charge shifts; Driver's license or inclusion of candidate's address in submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with adult, forensic, and intensive psychiatric patient populations; recent psych skills checklist from within the last year; two supervisory references from the last two years.
• Additional Information: Candidates must have submitted a psych skills checklist within the last year and provide recent supervisory references. RTO (Request for Time Off) will not be approved during the first two weeks of orientation and cannot exceed 7 days. The role requires working with adult psychiatric patients in a secure, 14-bed inpatient unit designed for acute mental health needs. Candidates must be comfortable working on the night shift and be willing to float as needed.
