Description
Job Summary:
The Oncology Nurse is based on the specified location and specializes in Medical Surgical Oncology. This role involves interpreting the plan of medical care, assessing patient clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, ensuring safe and competent nursing practice, providing individualized patient care, and evaluating the effectiveness of nursing interventions. The position requires working in an LTAC Oncology unit with patients undergoing chemotherapy and diagnosis management.
Job Details:
- Shift: Nights; 12-hour shifts.
- Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; educational background in nursing; at least 1 year of relevant experience; location within reasonable proximity to the specified address; ability to work during the scheduled shift; certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Oncology or LTAC settings; certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN); additional certifications such as Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification.
- Additional Information: The unit includes working every other weekend and holiday shifts. Candidates should be comfortable managing patients requiring chemotherapy and diagnosis management, with the ability to effectively coordinate with healthcare team members to develop, modify, and evaluate patient care plans.
