Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor Nurse in Overland Park, Kansas. This position involves providing specialized care on a dynamic, fast-paced orthopedic and spine unit within a busy Level 2 trauma center. The nurse will support a 36-bed unit with private rooms, utilizing advanced communication tools and working within a team committed to excellent patient care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Kansas Nursing License, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, 0+ years of experience, and Acute Care hospital experience on Medical/Surgical or Telemetry units.
- Preferred Qualifications: NIH certification.
- Additional Information: The unit specializes in orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions including stroke and head injuries, and traumas. Staff utilize mobile communication technology to enhance team coordination and patient privacy. The unit recently expanded from 26 beds to 36 beds to accommodate increasing patient volume. The team prides itself on low turnover and high employee engagement.
