Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse opportunity in a Level III trauma center located in Yakima, Washington. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population, from neonates to geriatrics, in a busy community hospital setting. The position requires flexibility, clinical expertise, and the ability to handle high-acuity cases efficiently.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC; minimum of 3 years of experience in a large volume emergency department with high acuity patients; experience with barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage, chest tubes, arterial lines, trauma assistance, splinting, ventilators, and understanding of Emergency Severity Index (ESI). Pediatric emergency medicine experience and Point of Care Labs proficiency are highly preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric emergency medicine experience and Point of Care Labs knowledge.
  • Float: No floating required.
  • Additional Information: The facility is a busy Level III trauma center with 34 emergency department beds, seeing 200-250 patients daily, including high-acuity pediatrics, stroke, cardiac, behavioral health, and substance use disorder cases. The ER is organized into zones; fast track with 13 beds is available. Use of Epic electronic medical record system is required. Flexibility is essential, with every other weekend rotation and the possibility of working back-to-back weekends.
