Description
Job Summary:
Psychiatric Unit Nurse in Yakima, Washington. This position involves providing mental health care to patients with conditions such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, suicidal ideation, dementia with behaviors, and diabetes. The role requires assessment, de-escalation, and experience with physical restraints, supporting a non-profit community hospital setting.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Washington state or compact licensure; BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) or MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) certification; 1 year of psychiatric experience; additional MedSurg or acute care experience preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with psych assessments, de-escalation techniques, physical restraints, and EMR systems such as Epic.
- Float: Med Surg units or to act as a sitter may be required.
- Weekend Rotation: Two weekends per month.
- Additional Information: The facility has 226 beds and 30 psychiatric beds, located in a non-profit community hospital. Scrub color can be any solid color without graphics, logos, or designs.
