Job Summary
Emergency Room Nurse, located in the organizations healthcare facility, is responsible for delivering high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced environment. This role involves independent practice, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, while demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of their clinical situation.

Position Description:
The Emergency Room Nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of the clinical situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to develop long-range plans. Continues to develop skills to manage and cope with clinical nursing contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegations to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. -
Responsibilities:
Meets expectations of applicable competencies such as leader of self, leader of others, or leader of leaders. Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocols, monitors for side effects and effectiveness, and documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care. Assesses learning needs and educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources. -
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, current BLS certification (American Heart Association), current ACLS certification (American Heart Association), current PALS certification (American Heart Association), current TNCC certification, RN license in the state of Texas or a compact license, and at least 1 year of experience in emergency nursing. -
Schedule:
Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
