Description

Job Summary:
This IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit) nursing position is located in Duluth, Minnesota. The role involves providing advanced patient care in a 22-bed unit with complex medical patients, including those with ETOH, CVA, Sepsis, wounds, and other critical conditions. The position requires night shifts, with a focus on teamwork, resilience, and independent task management.

Job Details:

  • Location: Duluth, Minnesota
  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week, with on-call responsibilities; nights are every other or less depending on unit needs, with holidays as assigned
  • Start Date: 08/17/2026
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Certifications: Minnesota Registered Nurse License, BLS (American Heart Association or ARC), ACLS (American Heart Association or ARC), NIHSS
  • Minimum Experience: 1-year Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) experience
  • Charting Experience: Epic system
  • Patient Ratio: 1:4/5 during days, 1:5/6 during nights
  • Unit Overview: 22 beds IMC unit, with occasional use of medical transfer patients, sitter assignments, or helping hands
  • Additional Information:
    • Contractors must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
    • Card holders with demonstrated experience in colder climates are preferred for winter start dates
    • GSA hours are not guaranteed during the week of orientation; hours are guaranteed weekly except during holidays when the unit may be closed
    • Contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable hours during periods of low census
    • Scrub colors are royal blue
    • Candidates should be prepared to manage independently and complete tasks timely in a fast-paced environment
