Description
Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurses are needed in ISSAQUAH, Washington. This role involves caring for unstable newborns, including those born at 32 weeks gestation and greater, with responsibilities in attending high-risk deliveries and providing specialized neonatal care. The position offers a night shift schedule, supporting the organizations commitment to delivering quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); one year of neonatal intensive care experience; current licensure to practice as a registered nurse; location in the United States; required experience in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) settings
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with charting systems in neonatal units, prior work in community hospital settings, and handling of neonates ranging from 29 to 34 weeks gestation
- Float: Float rotation may be required to postpartum or labor and delivery units
- Additional Information:
- Attends all high-risk and routine deliveries
- Responsible for performing breathing treatments, chest tube setup and care, and managing CPAP/BiPAP devices
- Administers procedural sedation and rapid sequence intubation drugs
- Utilizes cooling/warming blankets and manages drains, feeding tubes, and central lines
- Care for GYN surgeries, provide couplet and transitional nursery care
- Works with specialized neonatal equipment including infusion pumps and oxygen delivery systems
- Supports neonatal patients with feeding (bottle, breast, gavage), isolation precautions, and handling of breast milk
- Adheres to all safety protocols and utilizes PPE as required
