Job Summary:
Operating Room Specialist, Open Heart, Albuquerque Provides assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the Operating Room. Works under the supervision of the surgeon. Facilitates a safe, effective, and orderly operating room to maximize patient safety.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED and one of the following: Completion of a Surgical Technician training program (requirement verified at interview) or graduation from an accredited school; Certified Surgical Technician credential from either NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) with ten (10) years of experience; BLS certification required and must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
• Preferred Qualifications: N/A
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Floating between departments and or local locations within 20 miles is required. The role involves working with advanced surgical equipment and instrumentation, ensuring sterile fields, patient positioning, and specimen handling, with a focus on open heart and vascular surgeries. Candidates demonstrating leadership, critical thinking, and familiarity with emergency procedures are preferred.
