Job Summary:
Sterile Processing Technician in Juneau, Alaska. This position involves the decontamination, sterilization, and processing of surgical instruments and equipment within a healthcare environment. The role requires independence, technical proficiency, and adherence to sterilization guidelines, supporting both specialty and primary care services.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Sterile Processing and/or Technology required through either the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HPSA). Must have at least 2 years of experience working independently in a healthcare environment. Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Knowledge of infection control and surgical instrumentation is preferred.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and inventory management is preferred.
• Skills include strong oral and written communication, task and detail orientation, self-motivation, ownership of projects, advanced hand-eye coordination, organizational skills, and computer literacy.
• Additional duties include supply handling, product ordering, inventory checks, and assisting in team training as needed.
• The start date will be no less than 6 weeks after receipt of fingerprint cards for processing.
• The candidate must reside at least 50 miles away from the facility address.
