Description
Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a registered nurse (RN) with specialization in Emergency Room (ER) at a facility located in College Station, Texas. This role involves providing urgent and emergency care to diverse patient populations, including pediatrics, cardiac, stroke, trauma, and general emergency cases. The RN will work night shifts in a busy ER setting that treats approximately 70 patients per day, with a focus on trauma, stroke, STEMI, and pediatric care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts starting at 6:45 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Scheduling may include matrix scheduling to accommodate traveler needs.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certifications; a minimum of 2 years ER experience; Texas RN license; ability to pass an advanced dysrhythmia exam with at least 83%; no recent employment with associated healthcare entities within the past year.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with common ER drips such as pressors and sedation, familiarity with trauma, stroke, STEMI, pediatric, and general ER cases.
- Experience or 'Must have' skills: At least 2 years of ER experience; able to work with first-time travelers; comfortable with performing EKGs, troubleshooting ventilators, administering ABGs and breathing treatments, and interpreting telemonitor strips.
- Additional Information: Certification in NIHSS required; ER holds are intermixed with ER patient care; security is in-house 24/7; the facility has a Level III trauma designation and rapid response capabilities.
- Charting System: MEDITECH.
- Shift Notes: The role includes working from 3 PM to 3 AM, every other weekend, with holiday rotation and potential float responsibilities.
