Description
Job Summary:
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) specialty position is located in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized care to critically ill neonates, including those requiring surgical intervention, complex diagnostics, and advanced respiratory support. The position requires a dedicated RN to support high-acuity neonates in a model that emphasizes patient-and family-centered care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week, starting on 09/14/2026.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin RN license or equivalent compact, at least 2 years of recent inpatient acute care experience in neonatal intensive care, including Level III and Level IV NICU experience, BLS, and NRP certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation modes.
- Float: Will float to care for patients less than 12 months of age across all AFCH units including PICU.
- Additional Information: Provides care for high acuity neonates with a wide range of complex diagnoses. Equipment includes invasive and noninvasive ventilators such as NAVA and Arctic Sun cooling systems. Candidates must pass strict telemetry and cardiac interpretation tests with multiple attempts as described in the eligibility criteria.
