Job Summary

Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position is located in Lancaster, Ohio. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within the Labor and Delivery department. The nurse will provide specialized care for expectant mothers before, during, and after childbirth, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Associate degree in nursing; Bachelors degree in nursing preferred; Valid license to practice in the State of Ohio; CPR certification; Previous registered nursing experience preferred
• Essential Job Functions: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for each patient according to the nursing process; provide education for patients and families from admission through discharge; document all aspects of patient care accurately and legibly; notify physicians of patient status changes; administer medications and perform treatments safely; implement physician orders; ensure equipment and supplies are available and report malfunctions.
• Physical and Cognitive Demands: Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds occasionally and handle patient care activities frequently; maintain emotional regulation and self-control; communicate empathetically with patients; supervise nursing assistants professionally; prioritize tasks with keen observation and reporting skills.
