Job Summary:
A Cardio Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Springfield, Missouri. This role involves providing care for patients undergoing open heart and thoracic procedures within a specialized surgical setting. The position requires a dedicated professional to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety and adherence to clinical standards.

Job Details:

  • Position: RN Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) Cardio OR
  • Location: Springfield, MO (1235 E Cherokee St, Springfield, MO 65804)
  • Shift: Days, 4x10-hour shifts, 0600-1630, minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Start Date: 09/07/2026
  • Number of Openings: 1
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Days shift only
  • Required Qualifications: Current RN License (meets criteria or licensed in Missouri), BLS and ACLS certification from AHA, 1 year of experience in a clinical setting with Open Heart and Thoracic procedures
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certification in CVOR, ECMO experience, Impella insertion, Robotics
  • Float: Float rotation may be required as dictated by the facility
  • Unit Information:
    • Number of ORs: 4
    • Utilizes electronic medical record system Epic Optime
  • Position Responsibilities:
    • Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for all age groups
    • Monitor and coordinate patient activities with ancillary departments
    • Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
    • Function within scope of nursing practice per Missouri Nurse Practice Act and organizational standards
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated clinical expertise in cardiac surgical care, excellent communication and human relations skills
  • Working Conditions: Stand and walk for extended periods, lift and push patients, work in a climate-controlled environment, physically capable of handling up to 50 lbs.
  • Additional Information:
    • Utilize the nursing process for patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
    • Coordinate care with other departments to optimize patient comfort and safety.
    • Ensure compliance with hospital standards and policies.
