Description
Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Department Registered Nurse position in Eureka, California. This role involves providing specialized postpartum and neonatal care in a high-volume facility caring for a culturally diverse population. The RN will work nights, focusing on cesarean sections, high-risk obstetrical cases, and postpartum support, with a focus on patient safety and family education.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: California state license valid at submission, at least 1 year of experience in labor and delivery or postpartum care, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), AWHONN Intermediate certification, BLS (Basic Life Support), NRPN (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high-risk obstetric cases, circulating on cesarean sections, familiarity with Epic charting system, confidence in assisting with high-risk deliveries and postpartum assessments.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within scope to meet facility needs.
- Additional Information: The unit cares for high-risk obstetrical patients, including cesarean sections and postpartum/postnatal newborn care. The facility maintains a daily census of 15-20 patients, with 11 rooms and 15 beds, supporting a culturally diverse patient population. Travel compliance and licensing policies apply, including no acceptance of Nursys or background hits. The assignment requires working three of the five major holidays.
