Description

Job Summary:
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse position located in Nampa, Idaho. This role involves supporting preoperative and postoperative patient care within a fast-paced, family-oriented unit. The PACU team manages a variety of cases, including general, breast, orthopedic, urology, and obstetrics and gynecology, requiring flexibility across different phases of patient recovery.

Job Details:

Schedule: Day shift; multiple start times between 05:30 AM and 01:00 PM; shifts typically 10-12 hours; minimum of 40 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications; at least 1 year of PACU experience; Idaho state nursing license or willingness to obtain; no minimum experience requirements specified beyond the general expectation of 1 year.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic medical record system; familiarity with PACU, preoperative care, and post-anesthesia recovery.
Float: May be asked to float to other areas within the hospital but not outside the facility.
Additional Information: The unit comprises 18 beds, with 13 in general operating room settings and 5 in endoscopy support. Staff are expected to support all areas, including preoperative and postoperative phases, and to rotate accordingly. The team maintains a supportive environment with orientation including 3 days of preceptor-led training and hospital general onboarding. The unit's charge nurse oversees workflow, with assistance from two nurse aides in preoperative care. Staff are required to assist with patient assessments and post-anesthesia management, including airway management, vital signs, and blood draws.
