Description

Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse Omaha, Nebraska. This position involves providing high-quality emergency care in a Level I Trauma Center with pediatric certification and comprehensive stroke services. The role requires managing a diverse patient population with high acuity, performing assessments, interpreting clinical data, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams during 12-hour night shifts.

Job Details:

  • Shift: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Education and Experience: 2 years of emergency room nursing experience required; recent experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma settings preferred
  • License: Valid RN license to submit, with driver's license required at submittal for radius determination
  • Schedule: shifts scheduled between 0700-0700, with variations based on department needs
  • Orientation: One-week onboarding, including two shifts at a designated hospital and one shift at a secondary facility
  • Department Details: High-acuity, fast-paced ER with a 20-bed trauma area, dedicated Fast Track and triage zones, and staffing by physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, and support staff
  • Patient Care: Management of trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, strokes (including TPA administration), and common trauma drips
  • Operational Notes: Will float to observation and freestanding emergency departments at least once a week; candidates must adhere to facility policies including prohibition of artificial nails and passing skills exams during orientation
  • Additional Requirements: Must meet radius rule of 50 miles; candidates cannot be employed part-time, full-time, or PRN with affiliated facilities of the healthcare provider
