Job Summary:
Operating Room Open Heart (OR OH) position in Houston, Texas. This role involves supporting a high-acuity, nationally recognized cardiovascular and thoracic program. The ideal candidate will have experience circulating in cardiovascular operating rooms and be capable of working in a fast-paced, complex environment alongside a team of highly skilled surgeons.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 40 hours per week, with a rotating schedule. Shifts typically run from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, with call requirements including at least one weekday and one full weekend per month, and possibly more based on staffing needs.
• Required Qualifications: RN licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications; must have a minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular operating room circulating experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience scrubbing is preferred but not required; previous experience working with multiple surgeons in a high-acuity cardiovascular environment.
• Additional Information: This role involves working in a high-acuity setting requiring staff to circulate during complex cardiovascular surgeries such as CABG, MVR, AVR, kidney transplant, robotic-assisted procedures, vascular repairs, hybrid procedures (TEVAR/EVAR, TAVR), Impella, IABP, ECMO. The facility provides EPIC electronic medical records and requires hospital-specific orientation. No float or scrubbing duties are required for nurses, but scrub experience is preferred for other staff.
