Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse position available in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 25-bed telemetry unit with a focus on cardiac patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple admissions, discharges, and transfers, ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Location: 7101 Jahnke Road, Richmond, VA 23225
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); no minimum experience required; valid Virginia nursing license is preferred
- Unit Information: Cardiac telemetry unit with 25 beds. Staff includes 1 Charge Registered Nurse, 6 Registered Nurses, 1 Unit Secretary, and 2-3 Technicians during night shifts. Typical patient ratio is 4:1 and equipment includes EKG machines, Hoyer lifts, and LifePak monitors.
- Skill Set: Must have telemetry experience and the ability to interpret EKGs. Ability to handle a high-volume, dynamic environment with multiple patient procedures.
- Personality Fit: Team player with a positive attitude.
- Unit Procedures: Primarily patient assessments; cardiac procedures are usually performed in the Cath Lab.
- Schedule details: Starts on 08/17/2026, includes every third Friday and Saturday night (7 p.m. 7 a.m.) plus an additional Friday or Saturday. Support needed for holidays such as Halloween, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas night.
