Job Summary:
The neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) registered nurse position is located in Dulles, Virginia. The role involves providing specialized care within a Level II NICU setting, requiring a minimum of two years of recent NICU experience. The nurse will deliver family-centered care, assist with typical procedures, and adhere to unit policies and guidelines during night shifts.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Two years of NICU experience at Level II or greater, active Compact license, BLS certification, and NRP certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: STABLE certification and additional nursing certifications within the specialty.
- Float: Float rotation may be required to care for well newborns and attend deliveries in labor and delivery.
- Additional Information: The position involves caring for a small, specialized unit with 5 beds, expandable to 6, staffed by two nurses during open shifts. Responsibilities include IV antibiotics, dextrose infusions, TPN/lipids, feeds, umbilical line maintenance, oxygen support, nasal CPAP, surfactant administration, and delivery attendance. The candidate should have a strong effort and great attitude, providing care like family.
