Job Summary:
A Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse position is available in Salem, Virginia. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care in a 33-bed unit focused on medical-surgical and oncology services. The position requires excellent teamwork and a positive, energetic personality to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; no minimum years of experience specified; clinical experience in medical-surgical units; acute care setting background
• Preferred Qualifications: Oncology experience; chemotherapy administration skills; familiarity with EMR Meditech (EBCD version); experience working with Baxter intravenous pumps
• Additional Information: The unit operates with a team of six RNs on night shift including a charge nurse, supported by 2-3 techs, and a unit secretary. Patient ratios are approximately 5-6:1. The unit emphasizes bedside shift reports, hourly rounding (with tech assistance), and shift huddles. The unit has received recognition for improved patient experience scores and excellent patient and family feedback.
