Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor registered nurse in Salem, Virginia. This role involves caring for post-operative orthopedic, spine surgical, and podiatry patients within a 30-bed unit that has the potential to expand. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care during day shifts.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift with 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Virginia nursing license; BLS certification; 3 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing; physical ability to perform patient care duties; excellent communication skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: PALS certification; experience caring for pediatric patients; familiarity with post-operative orthopedic care.
• Additional Information: The unit is recognized for excellent patient experience scores and has received awards such as Joint Commission certification for hip and knee replacements. The team is composed of one clinical coordinator, five registered nurses per shift, two technicians, and one unit secretary. Scrub dress code is navy blue and white, with no hoodies, pull-overs, or T-shirts.
